Squared the body and tack welded the middle body mounts. Then I mated the engine, tranny, and t-case together and shoved it between the frame rails. Still have to position it, but this gets it out of the way of the reat of the garage.

My unit bearing cups arrived from S&S Fabrication. ECGS is going to make me a custom 14bolt with 4” tubes for my Jeep. I’ll have the same wheel bearings all around and the ability to upgrade past 1.5” shafts down the road. I would now if they made a 40spline detroit. Only current options are an ARB or a spool.

What’s your plan for axle seals in the rear axle?

The unit bearing has o-rings. I was planning to use Crane Revolution adjuster/seals, but Chase at ECGS suggested putting a seal just inside the tube from the unit bearing. He said incase the seal fails, the Crane setup won’t let me know and it won’t let oil back to the gears from the tube. Plus I won’t have to disassemble the whole axle to change the seal.

About us
“wayoflife” is a moniker that I’ve been using for 20 years now and I chose it because I think it does a great job of explaining, in simple terms, the passion I have for Jeeps and the Jeep way of life. This is a lifestyle that transcends age, gender and race as the only thing you need to be a part of it is a love for the outdoors, a desire to explore, a yearning to take on a challenge and a will to conquer it. Over the years, Cindy and I have attempted to capture the essence of this lifestyle through photographs and videos and share it with others around the world. And, this is how WAYALIFE was born.
