Colorado ruined me... pic heavy

I just got back from my first- definitely not last- trip to Colorado. UNBELIEVABLE. This was my first taste of the West and it did not disappoint in any way. I was solo for part of it and then my girlfriend flew in to meet me so there wasn’t any serious wheeling involved. The jeep did have to make the 2000 mile drive home after the fun was all over with so I was definitely being cautious. The sights were amazing, weather was great, and I’m basically now questioning how much longer I have to stay in NY. Pics are huge 36mp files so I’m posting the low res versions. Hopefully the quality doesn’t get ruined. On to the pics-

A very welcome sight to see after a few days on the road-

A popular photography spot that I wanted to check out at the crystal mill-

I had some time to kill waiting for a delayed flight so explored a bit around Montrose-

We stayed in telluride so Imogene was a must visit-

Did an easy scenic ride down Last Dollar Road-

I don’t think any roads had a bad view-

The girl wanted to take a day trip to Moab to visit Arches National Park so we hit the road super early to beat the crowds-

We only had limited time and it was getting to feel more like Africa by the minute, but I looked up a quick trail local to the park. Great scenery and a free jeep wash-

Already planning the next trip. Till next time, Colorado-

What great pictures.

My favorites are the night sky.

That view is making me long to be back in my home state of Colorado where I can see it most every night.

Thanks for sharing.

Great shot of Crystal Mill. Probably the most photographed spot in the state next to Maroon Bells. :thumb:

Maroon Bells was on my list but I was never around there early enough to avoid the crowds. I was surprised that I only saw a couple other guys in a pickup at the Mill the whole time I was there. Fun trail on the way in too.

Thanks. I really wanted to get out during the night to get some astro shots but was always too beat after being out all day. Too much to do, too little time to squeeze it all in.

Nice shots and nice job getting around to some amazing areas. Did you wheel the Devil's Punchbowl after the Crystal Mill? The west is the best, lol. I can't see myself living anywhere else. Glad you enjoyed your stay out there.

I just looked up the Punchbowl and no, I didn’t. My plan was to continue through the town of Crystal and keep heading south. When I stopped at the Mill to take pics, the other guys kept going and came back a few minutes later saying the trail was blocked off. So we both turned around and went back out the way we came. I didn’t even know what was further down the trail and didn’t go look for myself
