98 tj 2.5l

I have a 98 Jeep TJ 2.5L 4 cylinder, I need some suggestions on getting the most power. I don’t have the money to put a bigger engine in it right now so I figured I could see if I could get some power out of this one. The top speed is around 75mph and it feels really weak. I live where there is a lot of hills and some of them I have to shift down to third gear just to get up them. Any suggestions??

Unfortunately there is t a lot that you can do. Your best option for low end to help with the hills is re-gearing, but that is expensive and will leave you topping out at a lower speed. Getting more out of a little 4 cyl on a budget just isn't really possible.

Its a 4 cylinder in a vehicle that should never have had a 4 cylinder. Even with gearing you're still going to be constantly shifting, especially with modifications. Save the moneys for a real solution, no point paying for superchargers and things like that on that guy.
