2017 jku winter ed and 12k smitty winch in bumper

I have a 2017 jku winter edition. I want to fit a 12k lb smittybilt with synthetic line into the bumper. Has anyone done this? What winch plate did you use? Any technical issues with install?

    Thanks in advance!
    Jon

For clarification it looks like it should fit in the available pocket.

Itís an AEV Bumper so you may have to use their Winch plate. I donít think itís too expensive. I canít speak to a 12k but I had a 10k in mine no problem.

Awesome, thank you! I'll reach out to them. You have a smitty also? I believe the 10 and 12k lb are the same form factor.

Hereís a link to the customer service page, fill it out and they get you the winch mount plate that you need. The plate mounts to the frame holding the winch, then the bumper slides over it.

I have the SB 12k with the rugged ridge hybrid stubby. I like how itís out of the way.

Iím sorry it the rough country bumper. You will need a relocation bracket for brake pump.

So i spoke with aev. Their mount plate for this bumper is $285 (exorbitant!) and is only rated for 10k lbs. Neither are acceptable in my book. It's not even really the money, imho. It's more the fact i can buy an entirely new bumper with a built in mountfor that price. And 10k lbs is unacceptably low load rating.

Does anyone else have experience with internal mount plates (non-aev) on this bumper? There are so many configurations out there I'm just trying to find something that will work with my setup without too much of a headache...

ďwayoflifeĒ is a moniker that Iíve been using for 20 years now and I chose it because I think it does a great job of explaining, in simple terms, the passion I have for Jeeps and the Jeep way of life. This is a lifestyle that transcends age, gender and race as the only thing you need to be a part of it is a love for the outdoors, a desire to explore, a yearning to take on a challenge and a will to conquer it. Over the years, Cindy and I have attempted to capture the essence of this lifestyle through photographs and videos and share it with others around the world. And, this is how WAYALIFE was born.
