2012 JKU Coil Packs & spark plug question

I read the recent write-up on the 2012 JK tune up ... i have 107k miles on my 2012 JKU daily driver and i've been ticking off the needed maintenance items. Spark plugs were not on my list but they are now after reading that thread.

Question on spark plug gap... i read in a thread (of course cannot find the thread atm) where someone mentioned they run a larger gap. What spark plug gaps are you all running for your 3.6 engines? I've always just gone with OEM specs

How long do the ignition coil packs last? Have any of you replaced them when changing the spark plugs? Is that over kill to replace before they have gone bad?

If you do replace your coil packs, do you go with OEM or are those aftermarket ones better than OEM? or is that really a question like best oil to use? lol

Thanks for your input. This will be my first time diving this deep into my JKU engine bay.

I recommend intake gaskets at the same time since youíre pulling it off anyway

About us
ďwayoflifeĒ is a moniker that Iíve been using for 20 years now and I chose it because I think it does a great job of explaining, in simple terms, the passion I have for Jeeps and the Jeep way of life. This is a lifestyle that transcends age, gender and race as the only thing you need to be a part of it is a love for the outdoors, a desire to explore, a yearning to take on a challenge and a will to conquer it. Over the years, Cindy and I have attempted to capture the essence of this lifestyle through photographs and videos and share it with others around the world. And, this is how WAYALIFE was born.
