Sound like dust shield making contact with brake @ 40-50MPH

I recently noticed while driving with my windows down that between 40-50mph I can hear what sounds like metal on metal contact like when the dust shield touches the rotor on the front passenger side. I took out the tire and checked the brakes, dust shield and even cleaned forest crap still stuck in there twigs and the like. Still hearing the noise, whether in load or coast. Just between 40-50 mph. Any ideas, I can resign myself to just close the window and turn on the radio, but metal on metal noises usually ends up being a problem

I removed mine. They were coming into contact with my Fusion tie rod at full lock and made a bunch of noise.

Did you check the unit bearings?

Not beyond a spot check honestly, I rotated it but didn't hear any noise by rotating it by hand.

Jack the Jeep to get the tire off the ground, grab the top of the tire and see if there's any play in and out.

About us
“wayoflife” is a moniker that I’ve been using for 20 years now and I chose it because I think it does a great job of explaining, in simple terms, the passion I have for Jeeps and the Jeep way of life. This is a lifestyle that transcends age, gender and race as the only thing you need to be a part of it is a love for the outdoors, a desire to explore, a yearning to take on a challenge and a will to conquer it. Over the years, Cindy and I have attempted to capture the essence of this lifestyle through photographs and videos and share it with others around the world. And, this is how WAYALIFE was born.
