For you guys running the cage tire carriers what latch pins are you using? I am about to buy the Genright self locking ones but want to see what other ones you guys recommend?

Also. any tips for rock skins and carrier install would be great.

I use the pins from Lowe’s. There really cheap and so happens that they Match my Jeep. They have a rubber red handle. I would use a bolt locking pin but they don’t make one long enough for my tire carrier.

I bought mine from tractor supply. Same red rubberized handle. There are several install threads on both the skins and tire carrier. Here's a few. Use google and search evo tire carrier Wayalife & you'll find a bunch more. One of the best pieces of advice I can give is when drilling the holes for the skins is to clamp them very securely in place and drill through the holes in the skins instead of marking the holes and taking the skins back off to drill the holes. I don't care how careful you are, they wont line up as well if you use the skins as the drill guide. Do get an Astro nutsert tool from Amazon - it makes a shitty job installing those much easier.

Thanks guys and thank you for the links. I have the nutsert tool and will definitely be taking your advise on drilling the holes with skins on, that makes a lot of sense. I read over the link and got some good info. Wow 90 bucks for latches hmmmm....

Yeah I believe these were the $90 ones. They're really nice I do like them. Can you pull the pins out without depressing the push pin? I would see how they make a tight fit and maybe stop the pin from backing out but with enough force can you just pull it straight out?

No have to push the pin to get them through the johnny joints the holes in the brackets they can pull through.

I use the ones from tractor supply. Made a tether for the clip, so I don’t lose them. I had some like the Genright ones, but lost a pin going through the desert.

I second that. Learned the hard way and made a huge difference on fitment.
