Odometer question

Hi everyone,

I just got my 2019 JL wrangler and put on a set of 35s and two in lift . I know I will need some calibration for the speedometer. My question is...

I work on the road and need to report mileage. Does this effect the mileage of the vehicle in terms of accuracy or just the actual speed of the vehicle. I would assume distance is distance no matter what just wanted to check.

Distance will be short, it’s revolutions per mile, the odometer input is basically how many times the rim rotates times the input circumference. A 35” tire rotates less per mile so it will record a shorter distance travelled.

Alright thank you. I am going to order a super chip and set up the proper tire size. I just did some research just couldn’t find anything on the revolution.

(New tire / Old tire) x Current Odometer = Y

Y + Current Odometer = Actual miles.

Thanks for the explanation. Do you think regearing is Necessary for 35s? I know for 37s it’s a must.

I am stock. My dealership said I didn’t need to regear for 35s only 37s but I bought eh chip anyways.
