What are the benefits (and negatives) when switching to a heim joint steering setup? Most of the research I’ve done compares them to Johnny joints relating to control arms. I’m only concerned with the tie rod and drag link. Is one better than the other with: a big bore setup? Inclement weather? Hydro assist? etc etc. When and why would someone want to switch to them in their build process? Also, I know most are Teflon lined but how do most people maintain them with no rubber boot, wd40?
