That was a punch to the gut. Was always hoping Rush had one more good album in them...

Saw them in or about 1990 at the Oakland Coliseum. All three of them are/were virtuosos, but Neil Peart was half the band since he not only played drums but also wrote all the lyrics.

He elevated rock drumming to a new level. As a kid, I was completely energized and moved to learn more about music when I heard him play. I became a guitarist instead of a drummer but his influence was still there.

My first concert was Rush. 11/7/82 in Detroit, I was 12! Saw them 5 more times after that!

He was truly an amazing drummer and writer!

I was always hoping for a reunion of some sort too. Seen them a couple times now. Musically by far one of the best concerts I’ve seen. They played for close to 3 hours, no opener, and never seemed to miss a beat. I’m a guitarist and drummer and those 3 have been a huge inspiration to me.

If I had a real flag pole at my place it would be at half mast
