4.10 vs 4.56 ratio

Since I´m going to buy bigger tires ( proberly 305/70/18 ) cooper I guess that my 3.73 gear ratio is a bit to tall.

Anyway, with my curent cooper st max 275/70/18 tires and stock 3,73 axle ratio all is ok. Not super good or very "peppy" but works well.

If I go to 4,10 with the new tires I will actually have bout 80 rpm more than stock 32 inch tire and 3,73 ratio and of course even more compared to curent 33 inch tire on stock ratio.

I´m stupid not going t 4.56?

Off road I do not think it will mater in 4low but I´m more thinking about normal daily driving. What will be best for gas milage? Is it to heavy with 4,10 and 35 inch tire?

I´m a little bit worried it will take a lot more fuel if I go with 4.56. Also, I only have a dana30 in front so not the biggest ring pinion in the world.

Thanks

No one ever really said "Man, I wish i wouldn't have geared down so much". If you are going to spend the time and money to gear down, i would for sure go 4.56. The 4.56 will be nice offroad, as it gives 4 high more torque and 4 low a lot more torque.

Well, I allready have 33" tyres and stock 3,73.

I´m going to order stuff from united states, a new lift and also new gears. So, since I´m going to a bigger set of tyres I would like to regear. If I was going to stay on 33" I would not care about it.

Will gas milage suffer a lot with 4.56 over 4.10?

Is the dana 30 ok with 4.56 or does it have to small ring and pinion?

4.88 is out of question. this is a daily driver most of the time.

I have a 12 JKU automatic with D30 up front. Running 4.56 gears and 315/70r17. Still getting close to 17 mpg. Running 2500ish RPM at 70 mph. Off road in 4LO is a huge difference, of course I had 3.21 before the swap.

Very similar experience, except I’m around 16-16.5 mpg and mine is a 13 JKU.
