OK I know there has been many threads on this but, I dont believe I have seen this specifically asked,

Are 5.13s in a D44 strong enough to run 37s???

Thanks

I wouldn’t run that set up with a V8 conversion, but plenty of people have done it with the stock engine. I’ve been running 5.13s and 37s for years, over some pretty tough trails. Haven’t killed the gears yet.

I have been running 5.13 with 37s in my 3.8 Manual for a few years now. They are holding up fine. It’s strictly a toy, so I haven’t exactly gone easy on it either.

5.13’s and 37’s for the last couple years equaling close to 100k miles and hard trail use. Recently jumped to 39’s and no problems at all. 2014 JKU auto

Yep just set up an appointment with a local differential guy to get my rear regeared to 5:13's. Super excited to get it done. It'll be so nice go get rid of the sluggish acceleration.
