Factory tire carrier question

Caught the Bug
I'm putting a 35x12.5 r17 bfg ko2 tires and new icon wheels on my jeep. Do you think the stock carrier can handle the weight (I calculated about 90-100 lbs for wheel and tire), or should I upgrade the carrier as well? I already have an mopar reinforcement bracket.

You'll be fine with the factory carrier. I ran one on my JL when I had the set of 35's on it for a year and a half.

Oh yeah, should be totally fine. Havent heard of any warping of the JL's gate even up to 37s. My JK though... different story lol

Literally just saw a video where a Jeep engineer said the factory hinges were designed to handle a 35” tire for a JL.
