Hardtop storage rack

Hey everyone, quick question. Anyone know of a hardtop storage rack worth getting? I checked out the one by Mopar from the dealership And a bestop one and neither seem worth the $500. I was looking for one that held the doors as well but couldn't find any that would hold all four. Any suggestions? Thanks

i would build your own. i think there was a thread a while back that was on the same topic as this. the OP was looking for ideas for storage. everyone said build one out of 2x4's. hell of a lot cheaper

Those of you with hoists, what are you connecting the strap hooks to? I don't want to drill into my top to add eyelets or anything like that, so Im just curious what everyone is attaching the ropes to...

I git two eye bolts for the back and used the holes that are already in the top. The front I just mad a harness for lack of better words.

From what I can see, it doesn't seem like you can mount the top with those in place is that correct?

No I lifted the top after I removed all the bolts ,slid a block of wood under it and put the eye bolts in. Then put the lag eye bolts in the ceiling slid the rope threw , climed in the jeep , lifted the top to the ceiling , and had my son pull the rope tight and tied it of. Takes two people but it was cheap and easy. If it was something I changed often this would not be the way to do it but I just needed to put the soft top on for the season.

Here's mine the ropes in the one pick are to keep the top from spinning, winch is mounted on the wall on and off by yourself.

This is what Im trying to do. I don't live in Cali where you get a week of sunshine guaranteed, so I want something that can pop a hardtop on/off easily, but I haven't been able to figure out an easy way to attach the ropes to the top without having to "pre lift" the top to slide anything under it, etc. Gonna have to hit the garage and rack the brain.

If I were going to do that I would get a pulley system . Or make one. I think you will need to lift it up no mater what system you try unless you have an attachment point on the side .

That is awesome, thanks for pics. I was doing a little research and brainstorming and I am going to go for something like this. I'm going to try to start with this and see how I can add some space for storing the doors on it, unless I just make a separate rack. I also live where nothing stays off - if the doors come off its just for the day so I need something simple to manipulate.

Here is what I came up with. $100 electric winch + about $25 in misc parts and straps.

Looking at my top the other day, I noticed there is a small gap beween the body and the top....almost like a lip. I think I can find something that can grab the top without touching the body....
