Favorite Tool

Have not seen a thread on the subject so thought I would start one.

So what is the favorite tool you have in the garage?

Mine would have to be a 1940's Atlas drill press. I picked it up from a guy who got it from a surplus sale at MCAS Mirimar. It was stamped NAS Mirimar and is from the late 40's if i remember correctly. I rebuilt it, put on a 3 phase motor and and a variable speed controller so I can just dial it in to whatever speed I want.

On my current want list is the new IR Impactool Air ratchet... combines the awesomess of an impact driver into the small body of an air ratchet.

Ratcheting wrenches are the one thing I am grateful for EVERY time I need to use one...and even more so when I use a wrench that doesn't ratchet

I collect vintage US made hand tools and love every one of them.

Favorite tool would have to be my grandfather's old Shopsmith.

Shopsmith's are great. My father-in-law has one.

I'd have to go with the gear wrenches I recently picked up. They are sure handy when you need them. :yup:
