Ocotillo Wells is a off-road area 2 hours out of san diego and is tryinv to be closed down by the "no fun zone" crews. You all can help by following the link and signing the petition. A group called PEER is tring to shut it down and we need help keeping it open. Thanks to you all by checking it out and placing a signature.

From what I can tell, they just want to temporarily close parts of it down until the Dept of Parks and Rec restores the habitats and soil and blocks off archeological sites. I signed the petition though, since the area was designated for vehicle recreation ('cause that's all it's good for IMO). Plus, I don't see how no-fun PEER determined that the park is "generating soil loss that exceeds restorability."

That is unfortunate to hear, hope everything turns out well for you. Same happens over here sometimes, yesterday the wife and I headed out to a really nice jeep trail. Last time I was out there it had alot of nice rocky areas, steep climbs. Really fun 4x4in. This time it was 25 miles of pretty much graded road because they've decided to use it for the Best of the Desert track this coming year and they bulldozed it all......25 miles in 2 wheel drive. I was a tad upset about that..hehe
