Choosing a build style: Accent color

Hey guys! I'm new to this. Just picked up my new Jeep Wrangler only weeks ago, and I'm starting to think about the customization process. I've been dreaming about a Wrangler for the longest time now, and been drooling over you guy's builds for a long time too! I love my Jeep, but at first this is intended to be a pretty mild build, as this Jeep still sees a lot of highway and 4x4 only gets engaged over the weekend :bleh: . As of now I'm thinking budget boost (2in) or maybe a ProComp 3.5in lift. Height is actually a bit of a concern, as I sometimes need to go in underground parkings. :grayno:

I'd love to fit 35in tires and I'm also considering Warn bumpers and rockers, but my real question here today is the color I'm going to pick as my "accent" color. See, this Wrangler is not your typical bright color, it is a very conservative Rugged Brown Pearlcoat. Do any of you guys have any recommendations for an accent color for say: shackles, lights, bead, etc.? I'm going to have to hit PhotoShop to figure out what I'm going to pick, but I'm curious to see if you guys have any ideas.

Thanks!

Nice okay so were on the same page haha! I'm debating between a tan color to stay in earthy tones, or a flashier yellow or blue! Alright so I guess I won't have much choice but to resort to Photoshop! Hopefully I'll be posting some edits soon to get you guy's opinions!

I think rugged brown would look great with bronze/gold accents. Classic combo and IMHO looks awesome.

I know it's not a Jeep, but the point is still there...

One of my favorite color combos.

Oh man, I have to say I had been thinking of bronze/gold wheels too. I might have to look really hard, or get some wheels painted to stay away from tuner wheels but you're both right, that combo is pretty sick! I hadn't thought of that color for accents though, but that might be really cool too! Thanks for all the great ideas guys!

I'm actually a stickler for accent colors. With each car I've had or dreamed of having I first pick a color template for accents. I would start by first asking yourself if the accent color is going to be consistent throughout or do you want to have more then one, say wheels one color and decals another etc. I gravitate more toward having one consistent accent color. The color of your Jeep is tough to pick one for, however its also unique and therefore to compliment it I'd go with a unique/different accent color. I really haven't seen a JK with gold STI type color rims and I think it would go nice with your color - or a tan type color. If you want to get a little crazy, I'd consider maybe a dozer type/ bright orange color. And for the conservative side, black. Can't go wrong with black rims and accents. Keep us updated as I look forward to seeing what you come up with

A good friend of mine also just took delivery of a rugged brown JKR. I'm trying to get him to go old school and put a golden eagle sticker across the entire hood. That, and gold wheels, would make for a pretty sweet "throw back" Jeep. Google "Golden Eagle Jeep" if you are too young to remember them. Honestly, the new rugged brown is begging for that treatment and IMHO it would make for one hell of a unique and killer build.

Thanks! I'm leaning towards a single color accent too. I think a nice gold/bronze might be really nice. I'd have to see what it would look like on shackles, and other "hard" pieces, but I think if I go with yellow-ish lights and fogs, I might be able to pull the style together while staying in the same tones. I'll definitely give it a shot and keep you guys updated.

Thanks for all the good ideas! :D

I kinda like the orange idea :p PlastiDip has bright ass colors now and one of them is orange.

PlastiDip also has military camo colors you could play with to decide which you like best and when done get a similar color paint/powdercoating.

I personally like the idea of a throwback theme. That's a really dark brown, may be hard to match up. Here's a few pics I found in my many Jeep pics for some 'inspiration'.
