Local Trails near DFW Area

Hey everyone!

I'm fairly new to the Dallas area, and was wondering about any good trail locations near Dallas (specifically the south Dallas area) that any of you may know about?

I'd love to know of any DFW Wayalifers! A friendly Jeep Wave to ya!

There is Barnwell Mountain OHV area as well as Bridgeport Off Road Park. Those will be your two closest options!

I'm in Rowlett, and as far as trails and such go, really only parks in the area open on weekends. There are some off the beaten path places to go that are private property and much like those who live on the K Trail in Oklahoma, they're starting to prosecute trespassing (tickets and impounding vehicles). Outside of the off road parks you have National Forests, Davy Crocket has some nice forest service roads to travel especially after a good rain, Ouichita National Forest up in Oklahoma and Arkansas too. There's also a trail from 3 sticks monument in Oklahoma to Mena, AR that's still supposed to be fully open.
