It really makes you appreciate how Eddie runs a group. Relaying directions and watching out for the guy behind you is a big deal that no other group I've ran with pays attention to.

It's one of my pet peeves running a trail with strangers...no one looks in their rear view mirror...

For sure. We got confused a couple of times on which way to go. Luckily it all worked out. When the leader doesn't follow the rear view mirror rule it pisses me off more.

My wife and I took off for the Big Island for a Valentines getaway...rented a Jeep and took a look at our property in North Kohala...

Went on a quick Sunday afternoon run to Cleghorn Rd.

It started snowing a little, so the bypasses were a little more of a challenge.

When I got most of the way through, I found this YJ trying to climb a hill. He could not make it, and when he backed down, he slid into a good sized ditch.

I came down and winched him out, then winched him and his friend in a Tacoma up the hill. I stayed with them to the road to make sure they got out.

It was a fun short trip

They were glad to see me for sure.

The YJ had a winch, but there was not anything big enough to hook to, so they were in a bind.

Both had 33's and the ruts were too deep. The diffs were dragging, and it was too slick to even try staying out of the ruts.

Of course my 37's had no trouble.

Until I came across them, I was out alone, but I have enough gear that even if I have a problem, I can make it out.

Went out Saturday with some good friends exploring the AZ back country. We aim to get out at least once a month to somewhere new we haven't ever been. This trip did not disappoint even tho my original road was washed out.

Tried to get past this, but with everything being so wet it was just too soft and started to give. Might have to go back with some tools and fix it...
