Yea, FML. I woke up last night thinking that I may have pushed the bearing race in too far when I put the old axles back in. So now I’m going to pull the shaft again to make sure the bearing race is snugged up to the bearings.

It ain’t government work unless it’s done twice.

And on Tuesday reach out to Carbon.

Are these Carbon 35 spline? I broke one of theirs yesterday. Mine are tapered down, making the break point the weakest spot. Yours look more like the shaft is the same thickness all the way down.

That’s a bummer about the break. The ones I have are 35 spline and taper down (2 steps - with the second one near the splines)too.

I ended up file the splines and they cleaned up nicely. I had the option to send back or file down, with the warranty remaining intact. I have that in writing.

I was able to resolve the retainer plate issue as well.
