CJ buggy build

I didn't like how the lower cross members were and the bends on the end made it hard to get square. I like this way a lot better and smarter order of building the lower portion. The c Piller and rear hoop are set up to get tied into each other. Making the notched pieces took a lot longer than expected. My notcher can't quite make that steep of angle angle. I had to finish them by hand. Definitely need to practice nothing by hand. IMG_20170728_213357157.jpg

Made some more progress. I welded in a cross member where the rear hoop comes off the B pillar. Finally got the driver side reinforcment finished and ready to weld in. The passenger side still needs a little more until it's ready. 20170807_212526.jpg

Fenders are off. Batteries and battery mount taken out and heater core taken out of the dash. Did some welding on all the joints while I'm trying to figure out I want to tie in the grill to the rear part of the roll cage. 20170810_200413.jpg

I cut out the old shock mounts on the frame and in the process of grinding off what's left. Added a new piece to the center of the roof and getting ready to add supports. Welded a lot of the joints together. 20170823_210609.jpg 20170823_210627.jpg

Got back to work after a road trip to Michigan to visit family. Test fitting some pieces for the front end of the role cage and took the radiator out which I plan to move to the back window. 20170912_193617.jpg 20170912_213030.jpg

The front tubes are in but still need some more welding. Made some brackets to mount the grill to. And I think I'll be able to put the stock fenders back on if the suspension lets me. Built a pair of mounting brackets for the driver seat, still have to grind them so they'll fit. The passenger side is ready to be cut. 20170919_211137.jpg 20170921_154810.jpg 20170923_135618.jpg 20170923_144812.jpg 20170923_182743.jpg 20170923_182801.jpg
