Had fun juicing. It may not look like much but it tastes darn good!
4 carats
Bunch of kale
1 mango
3 oranges off our trees
5 sticks celery
2 pink apples
2 pears
4oz pomegranate
1/2 cucumber

Looks Good! We used to have that same machine. Got tired of the clean up. I guess we got lazy.

Caught the Bug
Pork shoulder in the slow cooker. Not sure why I don’t do this more often.

Lots of meat, kid bbq sandwiches, paleo friendly, adult friendly.

Let it cook all day with no fuss. Friday we’ll fry the rest for some carnitas tacos.

Coleslaw is super simple too.

Have you tried making sauerkraut? I’ve been wanting to give it a shot...

Yeah. My family back home makes it in 100 pound batches and sends me some every year. I don’t have the crocks so I haven’t really made it out here.

You can cheat and cook down cabbage with a little bit of distilled white vinegar and some salt.

Hmm, maybe I’ll try the cheat... A couple years ago I got into making sourdough bread.... that was some work.

I’ve never made corned beef. What’s in the brine?

Don’t know. I’m making pastrami. Bought the pre brined corned beef from the store and soaked it to get rid of some of the salt that is in it. While it was soaking I added some coffee just to make it different. Smoked it for about 5 hours and finishing in the oven now.
