OBD JScan - Program With Your Smart Phone

I took another look at the DRL and found that I did change the setting yesterday. I didn’t see the change because I had the parking brake on, so thanks to BaddestCross for the heads up on that!

I choose the “Turn Signal DRL” and found that the front signal light is very bright, just like when the signal if flashing.

I thought it would be more like the parking light brightness.

I guess it makes sense that you would want the light to be brighter and more visible for safety, but can the bulb handle the additional amps on a continuous basis? I guess time will tell.

This DRL mode also turns on the tail lights. The side marker lights remain off, so maybe having a “parking light” option that would add the side marker lights would be a better approach?

If I have bulb problems, I will ask the developer to look into the parking light possibility.
This is why I went with the fog lights for the DRLs.

Same here... and I'm liking it so far.

BTW, my backup camera is on order as well so I'll report back if I have any issues with the PCM part of the install.

I got my camera today:

It’s cute, but one problem I see is that I didn’t order a male to male video line adapter. The couple of write ups that read through mentioned that some people didn’t need it, so I didn’t order it. I’m going to have to pick one up if I don’t have something laying around.

If it cant depending on the year of your JK i believe the dealer can flash the LED sales code for a price. But i believe it starts at 2014 and up. The code is like 5SX or something. It stops the computer from dropping the voltage to half and gives the headlights full 12V all the time

Camera is installed and works great! I’m pretty freaking happy right now! The hardest part was running the wires through the plastic part of the bumper, up over the metal part and into the jack compartment drain. The rest was pretty easy.

Awesome! I am planning to install mine in the spare tire somewhere but this looks extremely clean.

A little bit OT but did you have any issues plugging it into the stock head unit?

No trouble at all. I was surprised how easy it was to take the dash apart and get the radio out. Literally 8 screws, a bit of patience and a little finesse. The radio has an empty receptacle that you plug the harness into assuming that you purchased the PAC CHYRVD harness. I posted additional details here:

I appreciate it but I can grab one if I need it. I need to pull my deck and see what I need. I have an aftermarket deck so not sure if I would need the cable or not. I thought mine just had rca jacks for the camera. good weekend project. Thanks for the links though just in case.

That would be cool if your head unit does just have RCA jacks. Cheaper too!

Received my Vgate OBDII WiFi reader yesterday and paid the $15 for Jscan app. Install was a little finicky but I was able to enable backup camera feature after messing with it for a bit. My dealer wanted over $100 to flash the computer. Thanks to OP for steering me towards this option and saving me some money.
