OR-FAB Rock slider bumper

Is anybody using the OR-FAB Rock slider front winch bumper?

I am wondering what the bumper width dimensions are. Currently I have the OEM bumper with a RV tow package installed. It sits right up under and looks like the OR-FAB rock slider will fit. What do you think?

Sorry, but it won't work. The new bumper will be mounted closer to the frame ends and the base of it angles down. Maybe if you had holes cut into it for the parts of your RV tow package but even at that, I doubt it'll work.

I agree with Eddie (surprise)

You can see in the pic the lower angled piece of the ORF bumper is right where your tow bar assembly is.

Sure you could cut it up, but it might be easier to keep looking for another bumper that will clear the towing rig.

I'm curious to see how the OR-FAB bumper mounts on the backside of it. Would it use the pre existing bumper mounting holes?

I wonder what kind of mods I could make to the RV tow package to make it a quick disconnect unit. It's not a cheap mod...not worth risking the damage that could incur on a rock crawl, but a necessity to have to travel to parks, disconnect to site see, get provisionals and 4x4.

Where there is will there is a way.

What purpose does that bottom angle serve?

Is it structural or for attachment? It look more like a skid plate.

It is just a built-in skid.

I was looking around and ran across this bumper.

It's an Expedition One Basic DX. It looks like it has a lot of clearance for the tow bar.

It's modular so you can mix and match pieces to it.

.

That's a pretty good match, thanks for sharing. I liked the OR-FAB for three reasons.

1. I want a modular that incorporates the stinger, OEM fog lights, a capable of mounting a winch. It's short.
2. I want my tire carrier to match in brand and design. i.e. OR-FAB Swing-A-Way Tire / Can Carrier.
3. As much as I like the EVO bumper and tire carrier package, it's really outrageously expense. (You get what you pay for, EVO looks well built). The OR-FAB was hundreds of dollars cheaper.

There maybe some other brands out there, I just haven't run across them yet. If I can slightly mod it I will.

I couldn't find the expedition modular with the stinger, perhaps that could be my mod, just add another bolt on style stinger.
