Finally got to hit some trails.....

I have had my jeep for a couple months and because of work and my sons competitive baseball schedule, I haven't had a chance to get my jeep properly dirty. That ended today. :D

Took Mt. Herman Road from Monument out towards rampart road. From mt Herman I took FR 315 down to rampart, then looped around to FR 314. Both are washed out and rutted and really fun to drive on. Once we ran those two trails, we went up rampart towards balance rock road. At that point we had a black bear cross rampart in front of me. That was the single coolest thing I have ever had happen while driving. I was coming up the road at about 10mph and I saw him step onto the road then look down at us. I stopped about 50' away and watched him stroll across and into the woods then look back and took off down the hill. Kids thought it was pretty cool too. Can't wait to get back put on the trails again.

Thx, yeah lots of trails to explore out that way, great views and its only 35 minutes from the house. Need to beef up the rig a little bit to hit some harder trails though. :D

I will have to get my gopro setup the next time I go out there. :D need the auto suction cup mount.
