Planned Moab during EJS 22 & didn’t know

Moab bug bit after a impromptu trip last summer by way of moving our youngest to Salt Lake. After that the wife wanted a full time jeep instead of our SXS we wheel, so I gladly started her JT build.

We made the decision to head back last November and work life timing put us right in the middle of EJS. My question is what can we expect that week (there for 6 days) out side of tons of people.

We didn’t sign up and plan to do our own thing. Thanks for any insight

Check out the Red Rock 4-Wheelers web site so you can see what trails are being used for EJS each day. There are still tons of trails open. Keep in mind though some non EJS trails are being being used by vendors for sponsored runs. If you get on the trail early you should be good.

The vendor show is pretty cool as are the manufacturers displays located around town like Jeep’s. Also you will see a huge amount of awesome vehicles driving around town. The Old Metal rigs are out in force. 😀

Lodging and eating will be your biggest challenge during EJS. If you go out to eat go early for dinner.

You will have a great time!

So are you allowed to run a trail later in the day? Say top of the world or Hells after their last group start or is a a go early say 7am type of deal.

You can see the run schedule for each day and just run a trail they aren't using. If they are, you can hit the trail super early before they close it off OR run it later in the afternoonish. But still plenty of trails to do and shouldn't be an issue. Like Azvajku stated, lodging and restaurants are what become difficult. It's still a great week though!

We will be there 4/9 through 4/16 so feel free to call or text and we can try to run a trail or two (y)

thanks for the clarity. We’ve had our condo at the Portal rented for months and just made our restaurant reservation last week for each night. So we should be good there.
Thanks for the trail invite. It will be the JT and a 4 door Wrangler Rubicon. We get in on Sunday afternoon and leave Saturday.

We have gone to Moab during EJS many times and not signed up. Still had a ton of fun the vendor show is awesome and has some great deals there’s a magazine Red Rock Fourwheelers publishes and you can pick up at any gas station for free that has the trail schedule and descriptions in it. Have fun we had to cancel our trip this year due to life being a annoying bitch.
