I'm in Southern WI and can't find a dependable shop to do my gears. Every shop I've talked to, after explaining what I have including the fact that I'm running 37" tires asked why I want to change the gears (ratio). Really?

Talk to the guys in Northern Illinois Jeep Alliance. I found out today 2 guys are setting up to do this in Sycamore IL for local jeepers due to lack of interest and incompetence of local shops to do this.

There are a couple of good shops in St. Louis, not too far from effingham. Probably not much help in southern Wisconsin though..

Thanks, I'll give them a call in the morning. Several of the other 4x4 shops I knew of don't do gears any more.

My good friends transmission shop does gears. He has a location in Grayslake and round lake beach.

Kincaid just south of Springfield.
I have wheeled with the owner a few years back, seemed like a good guy and was knowledgeable.

CNC Off Road. Finally a place that knows Jeeps.
I stopped by this week and spoke with the owner Bob and they will be doing my gears soon. They will also be welding on my C gussets.
