VIDEO : BIGGER is BIGGER - 38x12.50R17 Nitto Ridge Grapplers

Zinc bolts on black for the win. I think the back bolts would have been drowned out against the black rims. I’ve been looking at new tires and had been wanting to keep with my current 37/13.50/17 Exo Gapplers, since I have around 100k on mine. I am now questioning this. Curious how these wear.

Wait, how do you get 100k out of a tire? I have 45k on my Nitto RG's and doubt they will last another 10k. Most I got was 75k out of a set of Duratrac's. I rotate and maintain psi religiously.

I know that the XD231 will work for the 2.5 Enforcer lift I'm going to run for a few years. But I still don't know if I going to get the 4.5 Enforcer or the 4.5 Fusion and I don't know if they will work with the Fusion
I don't see why they wouldn't work.
Sweet baby Jesus. 🤤
:ROFLMAO:
Eddie. I’m all lost when it comes to backspacing. Would these exact specs be fine on say a JT with a standard coil lift? And are they going to be up on the amazon store??😎
Yes, 3.5" will work great. You just gotta remember that LESS = tires pushed out of the fenders and MORE = tires pulled in. On a JT with the wider axles like you have, you can pretty much run as much as 5.5" and still be good but wheel selection is limited.

As far as where to get the wheels go, these should be them on Amazon https://amzn.to/3lwQgP8

When I bought these, there were none available and ended up buying them through Off Road Evolution being that they had them in stock.
The new wheel and tire combo looks great. Looking forward to hear your performance review of them.
Awesome :)

Looking good (y) I think I'm gonna move up to this size next go around
Thanks! And, I think you'll like them a lot :)

Wow, 100k?? That's awesome! From what I've seen, these wear well as well and I look forward to putting them to the test.
Love the new look... Perfect.
Thanks :)
Looks great.
Thank you :)

Let's face it, bigger is bigger, even if it's just by an inch. And, while a 37 has been a great, "go to" big tire size for a Jeep running factory axles, there's been a growing demand for something, just a little bigger. Fortunately, Nitto has been listening and as of today, they're now offering their ever popular Ridge Grapplers in a 38x12.50 and for a standard 17" wheel. That means, most any Jeep JL Wrangler or JT Gladiator owner can run them on their rig and without having to buy a new set of larger wheels.

As luck would have it, Nitto was nice enough to send Cindy and I a set of these awesome hybrid tires, ahead of the official release and for the purposes of testing and review. In this video, you'll get to see what they look like, how they measure up, how much they weigh and how to get them installed on a brand new set of KMC Tank Beadlock wheels.

Good job syncing the beats. When do they release the trail in a 38?

Speaking of wheel backspacing, do you need 3.5 to clear EVO coil overs with the 69" width Rubicon axle. I know you couldn't with the 13.5 stt pros and 4.75 backspacing wheels but not sure what EVO recommends.

This combo looks fantastic
Almost makes me want to sell my trail grapplers with Robby Gordon’s and get 38’s with tank wheels
38’s just right fit for a JL

Okay, stock JT Rubicon. How much lift would one need to fit these cursed 38"s in and have room for mild stuffing?

With the Fusion being CO'S in the front and coil springs in the rear, since you still had to put spaces on with the 231's and 12.50's. I was just curious if I would have to get spaces also if I with the 4.5 fusion in a couple of years

The Trail Grapplers were released at the same time. They will be coming in a 13.50 width though.

So, the problem with back spacing and EVO coilovers was specifically in regards to the JL. I'm not 100% sure on the JT but I think more would be okay. However, 3.5" is what EVO always recommends.

I really do think the 38 is a perfect fit for a JL or even a JT or at least, in terms of a "big" tire on factory axles.

On a JT Rubicon, I would say that you would need at least 3" of lift and that might still require some trimming of the fender liners. Remove them and it should work just fine.

Yeah, hard to say for sure without doing it.

:ROFLMAO: Have to trim or lose them anyway to run remote reservoir shocks whenever one can get some.

Of course by then I may have a wild hair up my butt and put everything that you put on your JT plus do a motor swap. Then I would be getting new wheels anyway lol 😆😂🤣

That’s a great looking wheel and tire combination! Really a great addition to Jet and I think they would look awesome on our red JT. 🤔

Maybe it’s an optical illusion, but the Ridge Grapplers look wider than the Trail Grapplers.

I enjoyed the video however I admit that I am disappointed not to get any ‘Ripley Cam‘.
😢🤣
