Episode 41 of Kīlauea eruption yesterday showered almost all of the east side of Hawaii Island with ash. I’m somewhere around 20 miles away and still got quite a bit here. Pic doesn’t really capture how much is actually there. Even just a mile up the road, some vehicles were completely coated in this stuff. Looks like a little dust but this shit is like glass and is very itchy if it gets on your skin. Rain last night rinsed some of it down so that helps.

That stuff is super itchy. When I was insulating my walls I used the insulation with the lava rock. About as itchy as the fiberglass stuff just natural I guess.

Pretty wild how much it’s affecting. Shits all over the grass, in the trees, gets stuck in dogs paws/fur, kids playgrounds, all parks/playgrounds and pools are closed, it’s floating in the ocean and covering beaches. Didn’t think it would be THIS much of an issue. I think need a solid week of rain to rinse everything down or something.

A solid week of rain sounds like a normal week in Hawaii so you're in luck. lol

Imagine what it is doing to your lungs! A full-on respirator may be required to keep the stuff out.
