Nope, this is about as normal as it gets in places like Afghanistan, Pakistan and India. In fact it's about as normal on a daily basis as seeing Ford Focus with 4 passengers in any U.S. city. The best is when the flop, and yes that is normal to see too :icon_crazy: Still really cool in a crazy way.

This thread may have begun as a serious question by Wayolife, but it became apparent very early on that people who tend to gravitate towards being a self describe "Overlander" tend to be the one who feel the need to categorize people and their vehicle types, they take it way too serious.

Out of the hundreds of (if not much more than that) people I have known or met in the Offroad community, I honestly have never heard anyone refer to themselves as a "Rockcrawler" or what we do is "rockcrawling". Kind of ironic isn't it that the greatest majority of the guys you meet in any of these comunities will never use either of the terms to describe themselves. Great name for a magazine though.

Well, I can say that honestly I have never been brave enough to actually set foot in one. I have been around plenty in the last 30 years. It has nothing to do with safety, risk of any harm to life, limb or eye site. The freaking smells contained within these rides is something to fear. Human body odor, mixed with animal odors, mixed with oil and fuel odors, mixed with unknown materials that smell. Uh uh, I am not going in there brother!

Serious question here, do you have any idea how they get these vehicles on and off of the busses?

A small crane, usually like 10 to 30 ton capacity. But if you think the bus was sketchy, you should see the crane and the condition of it's wire rope......not going anywhere near that lifting operation :crazyeyes:
