DIY Spod- Waytekwire

I tried to get an ARB twin harness through that hole behind the battery but mine was about an 1/8" too small. I would still like to know where folks who install their ARB twins under the seat run the wired through or if everyone just cuts and splices the harness back on after feeding through. Sorry for the thread drift.

The opening I used is about a 4 inch square. Can you take a picture of the ARB twin harness? Another option would be to use a drain plug as a way to route it but those are smaller.

So I am building my switch panel and found the panel is 3 3/16 x 3 5/8. Took 3/16 around the border for clearance and from the sides I came in 3/4 and from the top 1 inch. Each switch is 1 inch on center. 5 of the 6 holes line up and the 6th is of enough for me to notice. The switch I used needed a 13/16 hole. Used a graduate drill bit. Here is what it looks like. So today was the day I tested out the Pvan's relay poison Canvas. After running the wires for my lights in the LoD Bumper following the factory wire harness ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1393705693.258086.jpg . Then connected the main power wire and used a terminal boot to keep it from grounding put. ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1393705792.615481.jpg . Then I connected the switches starting with the connector closest to the ground and power wire and then followed clockwise until all switches were connected. I used the cubby between the a/c vents. ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1393705906.378542.jpg ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1393705916.710906.jpg . Then connected the power wire to the battery and installed the inline fuse. We have power to the relays, switches and most important lights in the back bumper. ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1393705991.581050.jpg ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1393706009.704556.jpg

Now the next step is the ViAir OBA.

Paul -
After installing my switches, etc., I find that the switches only light up when turned on, I can't even find them when it's dark - did I do something wrong or is that the way the switches in the build order are: only light up when on?

Seems like a dumb question but I'd like them to be lit at all times.

Thx

I believe they are only meant to be on when the switch is on. If you want a light when the switch is off, a double lit switch is what you want

Sean is correct, I mentioned that in the writeup that the switches I used only light up when the switch is on.
The double led switches would require an additional wire going to a "hot when lights are on" source. Sorry if that was unclear :(

Nope, that's fine, just thought I had screwed up somehow.

I'm not going to edit my original post with the parts list, but if you want to run the double lit switches-

V1C1J77B-00000-000 $9.50 each from Otrattw.com- these are Amber led switches. They have Amber, Red, Green, Blue or White led switches.

You can follow the rest of my writeup, but you will need to run one more wire to your switches for illumination. The illumination source wire is a small 20 gauge wire behind the power window switches in the dash. it is Orange/gray stripe.
Pin 6 connects to that illumination wire. Pin 7 and Pin 8 are tied together to ground. Pin 2 is the 12volt input from Fuse 6 in Relay Panel. Pin 3 is the switch output/relay input.

Here is switch off, Illumination On

and here is Switch On, Illumination On- switch output hooked up to Led rock light

Once again, thanks Paul - I ordered the 2 light switches and will follow your wiring above, AND it sure helps to have them connected to the existing wireloom for the lights.
Thanks buddy.

No problem Paul!

order me 5 double lit switches too! :)

i'll prolly switch them out at some point. I was trying to make things as easy as possible with the writeup, and waytek doesn't have the double lit :(

One thing I need to look at though when you get your switches- otrattw doesn't have a diagram for the V1C1 series switch- the diagram I uploaded shows Top light illuminating with the dash lights, it should be the bottom light. Top light should turn on when switch is activated only.

I know, but it's done.
Blessings! - now PM me your shipping address. :thumb:
