The Metamorphosis of MumboJumbo

I just read through this whole build. As I am new to the forum, I have never seen your jeep before. I love it! 2DR+coilovers+60s+40s= pure sex!!! I hope you have the Jeep up and running soon!:thumb:

Starting to have Mumbo withdrawals. He's finally fixed but the shop isn't open on the weekend :tantrum:
Hard to believe it all came down to my use of locktite. Mechanic at the shop said it was an expensive but honest mistake to precoat the pressure plate bolts. By the time I got to the last one or two with the torque wrench, they had already set up and didn't get fully torqued. This in turn left a small gap (1/16") between the pressure plate and flywheel which caused the clutch disc itself to warp. In the end I'm glad I took it to a shop as I would've just torn it down again and again and totally overlooked my small but costly mistake.
I've had several people ask me if this was also the cause of the Centerforce clutch fail and it's hard to say for sure. I was warned against using anything but an OEM style clutch from the beginning and even the mechanic at the clutch shop confirmed that the clutch system really isn't strong enough to push a dual friction clutch such as that for very long, if at all. Mumbo now has a Luk clutch and TOB which is an OEM replacement. From what I'm told, unlike Centerforce, Luk has a no hassle return policy. Hopefully I won't need to find out for sure.

Glad it's all figured out.

Talk about a brain stumper. I would have done the same thing over and over again with the lock tight too.

Not soon enough, my friend. In the meantime I'm stuck driving the work truck around while I'm home. You have any idea how hard it is to get that thing in a Starbucks drive thru??

Hahah. Not sure my big rig skills are that good to even try! I'm ok with my F350 and a 35 ft fifth wheel, but would try Starbucks, even with just the tractor!

Yesterday I swung by the Walmart and accidentally found the perfect material for a light bar cover. Drawer liner of all things! So here it is, the almost finished product and it only cost me about $5.
