just ordered a bolt lock for my Genright tire carrier. as soon as that gets here I am going to install the carrier. I already have the hinges installed so just waiting on the lock.

Nice! I'm thinking about getting this carrier also and getting rid of my LoD

it was either the Genright or EVO for me. I am only running 35s and probably wont move up to 37s for awhile so i didn't want the EVO carrier to consume my tire and i also found a awesome deal for this Genright one on craigslist so it ended up not being too hard of a choice.

Finished up the paint for my tire carrier. Just need the Bolt lock and some daylight. Hopefully I will be able to get it on this weekend.

Well today I spend the better part of the day. About 5 hour or so installing my ARB twin air compressor. To be honest it is kind of a bitch to get seated with the M.O.R.E bracket. But once it's in it looks really good!

Now I just need to get the manifold since the air hose mount won't fit when the hood is closed.

I was out of town for just over a week and was driving an Toyota Rav4. first let me start by saying it was an automatic and i have only ever owned a manual since i was 16. every time i got in the car i wanted to push the clutch in to start the vehicle and i always wanted to down shift. i had to keep reminding myself it was not a manual. Now that i am home and back in my jeep life is good again.
Wondering if this has every happened to anyone else that is use to driving a manual?

Yep.

IN an automatic, i still keep a hand on the shifter. And people think i drive too fast, because i drive like I have that "extra" control from being able to let off the gas and slow down using the engine before hitting the brakes.

Auto cars seem to speed up when you raise your right foot :)

this last weekend i had a little time to work on the jeep while my girlfriend was off getting her nails done. pulled all the wheels off and made sure my wheel adapters were good and tight. am i the only one that is scared of them coming loose even when with red lock tight? also i have been hearing the all too familiar squeak i thought i got rid of coming from the rear again. I know i have a slight bent axle, nothing serious enough for immediate attention but after inspecting further with my wheels off I found i have a very slow leak coming from my axle tube. I guess I'm going to have to buy a new pair of rear axles sooner than i was planning.

Got the tire carrier in today. And also got the EVO vent delete put on.

Looks good, I have a question on the vent plate. Do you remove the little flaps that keep water out? And if so, what keeps water from getting into the gate?

yeah i took out the little flaps. maybe i did it wrong, but i believe you have to remove that in order to install this one anyone like it. also now there isn't anything there to keep the water out. now i am wondering what others have done for this.

I don't have one or ever installed one. I was just curious. Thanks for the feedback.

Did you paint your instrument cluster black? I too have an 09 rubicon but with silver gauge trim but the black looks better

yeah i did. i pulled the dash apart and painted it. the silver was really bugging me. in my opinion, all black is a much cleaner look.

Just went through your whole thread. Your jeep is looking good! As far as the hard lessons learned while wrenching,,, I'v been turning wrenches since I was 15 and my dad handed me the keys to a toyota 4x4 that didn't run. I still have those painful days where nothing goes right, you strip something out, or the repair you spent 2 hours on ended up not fixing the problem. Ya just gotta roll with the punches and take your time. Those days will get fewer and fewer. And the satisfaction of doing your mods yourself is priceless. Keep up the good work!:thumb:
