2015 JKX - East Coast

Just a heads up, we had our own film crew there this year, and will be attending all 3 this year.

The first part of our 3 part east coast series begins today. Hopefully it comes a little closer to what everyone was expecting ;)

I know we are very happy with the results.

Stay tuned

Wow some serious rocks in that mud. Thanks for the shots Russ!

There were some pretty decent sized ones but what the pics don't show are the steepness of the hills. Add the mud to the equation and there was a lot of point, shoot, bounce, and hope lol. Definitely more body carnage than the one in 2013. Good times.

Glad yall had a good time. Definatly different terrain out here. I hope these east coast series earn these east coast trails a little more street cred.

Just watched the JKX on NR4X4's YouTube channel I think it was better than Nittos "Intro Video" with more focus on the wheeling. Ya Northridge may have not had all the special effects that Nitto had but to me they brought out what the JKX is all about .

Northridge video was great. IMO yall are kicking nitto in the ass right now in the video department. Even though they got the fancy editing yall have the actual wheeling.

I don't know, Nitto does have The Waffle House in their video, if someone includes a Chick-fil-a we'll have a winner.

Waffle House was later in the trip so give Northridge a chance lol. There were no Chick-fil-a stops, at least as a group. Lots of bbq though.

Haha according to Kevin Geiser there was a big thing about taking pictures of every Waffle House they passed and sent it to one guy (dont remember who exactly). We were even doing that on the way hole from Daytona till I split off in Georgia and he kept rolling North.

I like both the NR and Nitto videos. They are fun and most certainly better than anything I could produce. But there is a pretty high bar to meet.

They've lost the personal feel that the JKX videos have in the past. I'd like to learn more about the drivers, where they came from, their history, and how many JKX's (like Randy) they've been on. What about their rigs? Previous videos weren't just about showing Jeeps throwing mud. They were about the people, their rigs, the trails, and in a lot of cases, the historical information of the location, it was a complete adventure video.

The music was boring. One song played throughout the whole video in both cases. Videos done by Eddie and Cindy had awesome sound tracks. I found myself bored of the music after the first three minutes both the NR and Nitto videos. Music should change up for every major scene change. One long song works great for a commercial, but not so much for something that is 10-15 minutes long. If the music did change it was so close to the previous song I didn't notice.

Tip to NR, your narrator needs to really do something about sounding like he is talking to his computer in an empty echoing office. Get a good mic, put cardboard, carpet, foam padding, egg cartons, something on the walls to dampen it a bit.

Maybe we will be seeing better from here forward and this was just the intro?

And of course you meant to say thanks for the 12-18 hour days these guys put in crawling through mud and rain and helping on repairs so you can watch for free and complain about the narration, music, and content.

Eddie and Cindy absolutely killed it and set the standard for JKX and for that matter any other trip video. As I've said before I don't know how they do it. They were always the first up and last to bed on the last JKX I went on.

I think everyone needs to chill out and appreciate the work these guys did in in what 2-1/2 weeks to get this out instead of complaining about it from their couches.
