Thanks man and soon Ill beginning working on them. I believe we are gonna be able to starting moving tools and stuff over to the building so once I got everyone in one place im gonna start on them. Should also have the lift in a couple weeks so by the time I have the axles ready I should be good to start pulling the Jeep apart.

So does this mean you'll be bringing the YJ to Windrock?

Didn't trust me to take a look at it huh? ;) My bet is that it needs a tune up, carb cleaned and probably a carb adjustment.

Not that I did trust ya it was more me not wanting to deal with it right now [emoji23][emoji23]. Last time I changed the oil in it it had a bunch of metal in it so im interested to see what it will be like when it pulls it apart. If we think the motor will survive I may do a fuel injection swap so I can ditch the carb problems.

Well finally sucked it up and did a little work on the rear Sterling 10.5 today. First we got it off the trailer and took it down next to the shop and stuck it on jackstands. Figured id clean it up outside instead of making the mess inside.

I had the feeling that the axle still had fluid it in so then I pulled the cover and sure enough there was.

After that we pulled the factory shock mounts off and the brake lines off. Also took the factory swap bar off and a couple other little things.

Next we pulled the shafts hoping to take the hubs and everything off make more room for to cut the leaf spring mounts off but then I learned that there is a 4 prong tool to take the hub nut off. I got no clue if this is a ford thing or all big axles have them and if anyone has any info on that please let me know. So I decided to try a few different things to see what would cut the mounts of the best and out of a plasma cutter, portaband and a cut off wheel I think a cut off is gonna probably work the best. This is where I called it quits for today so once I get the leaf mounts off it will be time for the artec brackets.

Looking good Scott :thumb:.......can't wait to see these one tons under your rig........I may make a run up to Helen in late November early December maybe we can get together with Harrison, Oscar, and Trailess and run some trails up in your neck of the woods.......wish I could get up there next week for that North Georgia run but my schedule won't allow it......:grayno:

Thanks man and definitely let me know when you get up here. We will find some stuff to get into.
 
Finished up taking all the factory mounts off the rear axle early. Ended up using a cut off wheel and taking the welds down on the mounts then used a BFH then grinned it down smooth.

After that I moved it inside and I went a little deep into the housing in 2 spots so I ended up filling the holes up with a welder then going back smooth.

So now the rear is ready for sand blasting. So the plan right now is to move to the front tomorrow and get the mounts off it then sand blast them at the same time.
 
Started work on the front d60 today. Started by moving it inside. I then unbolted the factory coil buckets, piece of the driveshaft, tie rod and a few other things.

After that I broke out the plasma cutter and started to go to town on the passenger side control arm mounts.

So here is how it sits now. Tomorrow im gonna get back at it and hope to have all the passenger side cleaned up and done tomorrow. Depending on how that goes ill move on to the driver side.

Thanks man and not sure if I have said anything about my plan or not honestly but ill be honest I dont have much of a plan yet lol. Ive talked to a guy that made clearance by stretching the rear 2inches. My axle is already supposed to be a inch back because of the RK long arm. So my thinking is if 2inches will do it a inch and a sledge hammer will work lol. If that doesnt work ill ether put a 2dr gas tank in it like artec suggests or put a full cell in the back.
