Well trying not to waste anytime (life is to short) so we dove right into the modifications to our new baby. It is going to be our dd but will definitely see some light to moderate trail time on the weekends. We brought it home on Monday night the 16th of Nov. It had 12 miles on it when I backed it into the garage and i told my wife that she couldn't drive it, she actually understood. :) We couldn't do much until Fri night because of this unpleasant thing I have to do called work. :(

One of the first things we done was on Wed evening which took a little more time than I expected, but then again everything usually does was to add a set of grabars with red handles to match the red accents of the Hard Rock.

Those front Grabars are a bitch to install, aren't they?

Yes they were definitely a pain in the a** but we'll worth it imo they are very stable and won't break like your standard grab handles.

On Thurs night we installed the Maximus 3 stinger on the factory front Hard Rock bumper the directions for this install lacked just a little bit of detail. We then proceeded to install AEV'S rear tire carrier on the factory rear bumper. This had to wait until Fri evening to be finished. The tire carrier install was pretty straight forward the only thing was that you have to remove the bumper, install the carrier and then remove it to reinstall the bumper. Now what to do about a third brake light?

Nice Jeep! I see you have the same wheels that I have (Fuel Anza's, right?) - so I may be of some help with your 3rd brake light. PM me for details. :D

Fri night we put it up on stands took the wheels off and got ready to install the lift starting Sat morning. We installed a Mopar stage 3 lift over the next two days finishing up on Sun. This was my second lift install (first one being a RC 4" short arm on my son's 2006 lj which might I add he totaled and I had to rebuild and upgrade to a long arm due to damaged cotrol arm brackets) but enough about him. I will have to say between the video and the directions this lift is pretty installer friendly with the appropriate tools (which ended up being more than what they said you would need) but directions are usually just a basic reference anyway. Probably the most frustrating part was installing the cups around the rear bump stops in the video they just push them half way on and a few taps with a dead blow hammer and presto. Yeah :thumbup: my a** :mad: these things just about went in the trash but I eventually came out the Victor of that situation.

Sun we installed the Fuel Anza D558 wheels paired with Mickey Thompson LT 315/70r17 ATZ P3 tires and set it back on the ground to final torque all of the suspension components. We then rolled it back and forth out of the garage to check steering wheel centering, everything looked good and the wife was happy. :) Then I had to break the bad news to her that she still couldn't drive it till the Superchips flashcal arrived on Tues didn't want to take any chances with all the computerized bs until we recalibrated the computer for the larger tires. Probably wasn't necessary but I am ocd when it comes to stuff like that.

If you have that kind of patience, probably the right way to do it. Lol.

I am still waiting on my Rock Slide Engineering power steps to show up and I am going to install an AFE y pipe because I did not like the spacers that came with the lift. I will post pics of these once they are installed. The programmer showed up on Tues as scheduled and I was finally able to take it for a test drive (the wife was very happy :D). All in all I am pretty pleased with the on road performance of the Mopar lift but I did find one thing that has to be corrected (my fault partially) the reservoir brackets for the front shocks were not as depicted in the video so I chose to mount them slightly different and now have a clearance issue on the passenger side with the wheels turned full right. Oh well not to big a deal to fix, time to start researching future mods definitely open to suggestions but first it's time to eat.

Right now a '16 if they don't release the new Wrangler I might do a '17. My wife and I are also buying land and building a house next year so I have to get that started before I order.
