Thanks JKBandit! I am really happy with how it is turning out. I really thought I would feel the need to jump to coilovers after JKX, but I am perfectly happy with what I have for now. I really haven't felt like the jeep is holding me back any. As I've said before, the jeep outperforms its driver every time. ;)

I thought about adding King air bumps, which would help with the high speed desert stuff, but I do not want to lose any up travel.

I think what I have left to add (for now):

New tie rod
Steering assist
Beadlocks (on order)
PSC (or custom) C-pillar reinforcement
Maybe up grade the front shocks to include the shiny red knobs. :) Depends on cost, I really liked how I could stiffen up the rear shocks while at KOH.

Ball Joints!!!!

Ok MTG you and Foxc have the 2.0s and the 2.5s between the two of you. I'm in need of some advice. Goning to order one of the but not sure which. Do i really need the shiny knobs.:cheesy: I mean i want shiny knobs:shock: but with the type of terrain we have here in oregon do i really need them. I see a lot of really washboard logging roads and desert roads. We play on the dunes 3-4 times a year and mostly i like to find places to rock crawl. Does my once a year trip to the socal desert make the adjustables worth it. I'm running the tera flex 9550's now with the plush ride coils. I would like to do faster on the trails and roads we travel and not get beat all to hell like we do now

No problem! And thats my point. A lot of people run 40s and coil overs here in Colorado but all of them will tell you that 37s and a good non coil over suspension will go just about anywhere their rigs will go. Like you said, your jeep isn't holding you back. And I think its the perfect amount of modifications to tackle the majority of the trails here in the states!!!

Good job man! I look at this thread every day just to see what you add lol

I'll give you my :twocents:

You are really asking 2 questions: 1) do I need reservoir shocks and 2) if so, do I need reservoir shocks with the compression adjuster (i.e. shiny knobs)?

If you plan to drive hard and fast off road or even rock crawl for prolonged periods of time, I think the resi shocks are worth it. If not, save your money. It is hard to say whether you should do it, because I don't know how you drive and how you feel about your current set up...it is too subjective. I can say that I have no regrets spending the extra money on mine. I can run harder and faster than friends who don't have them. Do you need them? No. Are they nice? Yes. Really it probably comes down to budget. I do not think either is a bad choice and will likely be a stark improvement over your current shocks.

As for the shiny knobs. I literally had never adjusted them since I installed them until I went to KOH. So in that regard they were a waste of money. However, now that I have played around with my shiny knobs I am really glad I have them. It made a huge difference in JV...one day I ran with them set a mid-point and the next day I set them as firm as they would go. Big difference in the speed at which I could drive. I've dialed them back down again because driving around town with them that stiff is uncomfortable. Now, do you need them? Same answer as above.

I really need to get back to Oregon to see some friends, but have no plans to do so soon. Of course, if you come to Reno I'd happily let you drive my jeep and help you decide.

well you helped answer my question for the most part. My goal is PR60s and DTD. thats 2-3 years out of me realisticly. In the mean time I want something that i can have nice and smooth on the streets but not beat me up offroad. I like the fact that you can adjust them when you need to. Every year we take a week or longer offroad trip somewhere. By the end i feel like I've been in an mma fight. Planning on the rubicon in July/Aug. maybe we can detour on the way home and hit a trail with ya or at least stop and say hey and i can admire knuckles

If you can afford it in your build budget go for 2.5's. There is an advandage to the extra oil capacity. But, Iam very happy with the 2.0's.

New from when? I just removed the factory heat shield.

No heat shield! No bumper! Cut down flares! Reckless, simply reckless and irresponsible. I would have thought you were not this type of hooligan. Where do you think you live, in Arizona where there are no laws?

.....and by now you have figured out that I have nothing but good things to say about Knuckles. The jeep is coming along nicely
