Cozdude's build of Knuckles

Knuckles is looking good Steve! Glad to hear classes are going well...keep your nose to the grindstone!

There should be a celebratory Rasuch run where you break something that you just learned how to properly fix at the end of every class haha!

Steve knuckles looks great and congrats on auto tech school best wishes to you and your future achievements of knowledge in the auto world

Well nothing really major to knuckles as of recently. As I'm sure you saw with the whole noroad post about all my personal shit my life has changed. I started going to auto tech school a few weeks ago. My first class I'm in now is brake systems. So I changed my front driver caliper as it was starting to seize. Going to change the passenger side here soon as well. While I was at it I did a full brake flush of the system. The fluid was super dirty and ruined from the passenger caliper seizing up. Peddle feels much better.

Also adjusting my coilovers today. Will post pics here in a bit once I wrap everything up.

Good luck man. I went to Lincoln tech a long time ago, and the knowledge u get in school stays with u for ever, and comes in handy more often than not.

Thanks guys! Really looking forward to and enjoying expanding my knowledge and stop being an idiot savant with working on stuff lol.

Ok so little update on how the lower turned out. Knuckles feels SOOOO much better! The steering is tighter again and he feels more planted in the road just going straight as well as in corners. Knuckles also feels smoother than he did before going down the road. Maybe that mug preload was hurting my performance of the coilovers being a lighter 2 door. Really wish I lowered him back down to where I wanted him to begin with sooner. Need to maybe talk a little bit more preload off the passenger side as well as the rear but for now I'm happy.

Well I just had a good convo with Drew at ORE about my coilover setup to see how they are doing it for 2 doors at the shop. I am looking to go lower even more after my recent adjustments and he suggested I go as low as .5" of preload. So my next project is it jack knuckles back up and make more adjustments to the preload and to properly set my timing rings as they were never set up right to begin with

That sounds good i was thinking (imho of course) that it could stand to be lowered a tad more, based on looks alone, as i know zero about c/o lolol

Oh yea it absolutely needs to be lowered more. I think with my first adjustment I was up around 5". Now I'm down to prob around 4. The extra .5" will get me closer to where I wanted to be all along when the initial install happened but some people thought otherwise 🙄

Call Andrew He built your jeep after all [emoji6]

Well exactly 5 years ago today I brought knuckles home from the dealer with only 11 miles on the odometer. 55000+ miles later I'm still love ever bit of him! Here is to 5 more years of adventures!

Mine came home with that exact wheel and little ass tires. I changed tire size within the first 100 miles. It should be a crime that Jeep puts that small of a tire on JK's

I would have just as soon had those than pay for the 17" wheels and tires, only to pull them off at 1400 miles. Knuckles is all grown up. Quite a change.

Lol I agree but back then I really didn't know any better. Hell I didn't even think I was going to modify him till his first off road trip. I was screwed after that lol.

The baby tires came off in the first 3k miles [emoji16]
