Hey sipafz, found my hood spring! Thanks for the reminder!

Today I added a 3/4" spacer to the front, hockey pucks to the front and swapped rear coils. My rears were my factory 59's plus a 1.75" spacer. I replaced them with OEM 60's. According to my measurements right at the rear corner of the frame, I picked up an inch with that swap. Heading out with a friend and his 2 door tomorrow morning for some fun.

Maybe the pics don't show the difference, but I can tell in person.

Hope to have plenty of pics and some GoPro video of the outing tomorrow. Happy weekend everyone!

Had a great day on multiple trails off of Garden Canyon on Fort Huachuca. We clocked 20+ miles off pavement. Most of the trails were small rocks and some off camber stuff but a lot of creeping uphill. I used the hill descent control extensively on the long downhills and have really grown to like it. I also found a spot to really flex and check my hockey puck bumps and shock lengths. Not at full clock, but nothing rubbed all day. I banged some skid plates, appreciated my recent mods, loving the wheels and tires and had an overall great day outside hanging out with a friend.

I took video so not many still shots. Here are some pics...

The aftermath! Spider needs a bath inside and out.

I also checked off a "I'm a Jeeper" item off the list. I got hit with a good rainstorm, topless and essentially doorless. All is good though. [emoji106]

Today, Spider got a well deserved (and needed) bath, inside and out. Also got the three new Bestop windows installed. The others are still decent enough, so they will be trail windows.

Had some help from my little ones, inspecting for trail damage while checking torque settings. Had some scrapes on the skids, but nothing major underneath.

As we were washing, these were discovered...

Pass side windshield frame (definitely from the trails)

Pass side front door. No idea on this one since I was running my tube doors. It literally just flaked off while washing.

Less plastic means less 303 used, although I did 303 the new front bumper. The rattle can bed liner does tend to fade.

A few things arrived yesterday...

For the soft top windows

ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1471498398.374667.jpg

D-rings and isolators so I have all four tow points covered and some inexpensive Amazon LED cubes to replace my factory fogs

ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1471498503.840064.jpg

I supposedly have another delivery waiting for me tonight when I get home. And the last item for awhile should arrive tomorrow.

I'm hoping to get my 3rd row seat swapped out soon for the JK seat I picked up months ago.

I have a little more metal work to do on the bumper before installing the lights. Hopefully I can pull that off this weekend as well as this...

I guess it's the "Super Stocker" build

I woke up to this...

ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1471660454.383521.jpg

[emoji35] Put the spare on and headed to Discount Tire. It was a sidewall puncture, so they replaced it under the road hazard cert. They showed only two left of the original STT's in their inventory nationwide, so I also bought one. They should arrive here first part of next week which equals no trails this weekend. [emoji25]

This afternoon I did get the Rock Hard 4x4 license plate relocation done. I'm very happy with it.

ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1471660805.236946.jpg

I did cut off the factory 3rd brake light. The view out of the rear view mirror is definitely improved. [emoji106]

I do still need to re-extend my spare tire isolators. With the RH plate relo those are a lot less firm on the spare (not to mention my spare is completely flat right now).

As much as I like my DIY bumper, it was missing something (other than a Warn).

While continuing with a budget build, I bought a stinger that's for an XJ since it was so inexpensive. This was a cheaper option for me than driving 3 hours round trip to a place that carries 1.75x.120 DOM.

It started like this...

ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1471750162.776792.jpg

The mounts and gussets were way too long for my bumper, so the grinder got a workout...

ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1471750255.630998.jpg

After some more grinding to get the angle I wanted and some paint touch up...

ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1471750279.182678.jpg

I also added the Amazon cubes while I pulled the bumper for paint. I wired them into the factory fog switch...

ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1471750361.122203.jpg

Other than my time, I have about $375 of materials for the bumper. The steel, paint, grinding wheels, EVO d-ring mounts, the d-rings/isolators, stinger and lights. I'm very happy with the end result!

After working outside for a good portion of the day, the family and I loaded up to get some sunset/monsoon views...

Wow. Dropping some coin and time on this project. Almost done?
Are you going to add some bracing to the stinger?

Well, I wouldn't say I've dropped a ton of coin into it. I feel like I've gained the functionality and look I wanted with less money spent doing practically everything myself. In fact other than some recall work, tire changes and hail damage repair, I've either swapped the upgrades on myself or made items myself.

Almost done? Are we ever really done? Ha ha! I have some smaller projects on the to do list that require little to no further purchases.

I wanted to add bracing. I did 3 passes with the mig welder around both ends of the stinger. The thing doesn't wiggle even a little bit on rough roads. The circumstances of the day (rain inbound) and the fact that I will modify the front bumper for a Warn in the future, made me delay that. I know, sounds silly, but I'll get to it in the future.
