Thanks Eddie! Yeah, lots of snow and lots of cold. Hoping for a white Christmas and odds are looking good!

My In-Laws are headed out there for Christmas so you will definitely have snow. It always snows when my Father-in-Law is out there. The year he lived out there a while back was one of the worst winters on record. They alway joke with him about that.

Spent the morning diagnosing a rattling sound that's developed recently. First I thought it was a loose bolt on the new suspension. Nope. Next I thought it was a skid plate on the exhaust. Nope. Then I thought it was the roof rack, where the ladder connects up top. Nope. Finally I found it: the ladder was too close to the hard top and was tapping against it when hitting bumps. I took off the ladder for now and it's all smooth again.

Here is a pic of the hardtop corner where you can see it has been making contact.

I'm starting to dislike the roof rack more and more. It kills my clearance and I feel like I'm chasing a new sound every couple months. May look into the Rhino racks.

On a plus note, the Evo sliders work great to stand on while someone drives through the neighborhood so you can diagnose weird sounds.

I had this same problem when i ad the roof rackon my 2 door, was really annoying but eventually found it, however it had wore all the paint off already. I really like my Gobi but it just became to much of a pain in the ass so I i know what your going though.

Thanks. Looking more and more at selling it.

Also, swapped out the rubber washers/dampeners on my shackles this morning because I thought that was the source of the issue. It wasn't but I needed new ones anyway. Man, these things are a pain to get on.

Being that you have a 2nd kid on the way and I know you guys like to camp, you may want to keep it. That roof rack has been very helpful for us. That was the main reason I built my tire carrier as I used to have the tire on the roof. The roof rack adds a lot of camping storage.

This is the struggle. Definitely need cargo space. I'm drawing up some alternative options now that I'll put here for feedback.

Just got caught up on your build thread. Your rig is looking great brother! One of the best colors to ever be put on a Jeep in my opinion, and miss having a GC colored rig all the time. Now I'm living vicariously through your thread lol! Anyways, rig is looking awesome and can't wait to see it up on some 37s! Gonna be a beast!

Thanks man! Love the color too. Feel free to continue to live vicariously through my build! 37s before Spring would be ideal but we'll see. Looking at selling the roof rack to help fund that. If not the Spring, then I'd hope by the Fall and Black Friday sales again.

Quick question, what advantages do the new jspec rear lower control arms have over the stock ones? I have the front lowers but never considered the rears and I would be really interested in hearing what benefits they provide to our lift kit. Thanks in advance! Your rig is looking great!

I'd probably stick with what you have. The fronts are a different length to help correct axle angle, but the rears are just beefier. If you don't have them already, I'd probably just run your stock ones till they give you issues (which they possibly never will).

Edit: maybe the rears are a different length too...cant recall now. To know for sure, give Wes a call.

Gotcha. That's what I was thinking is they may be longer to help center the axle after the lift but then I wasn't sure what effects that would have on drive shaft angles and stuff if you were to keep stock upper rear control arms. Just thinking out loud lol

I have one. We usually put the kids power wheels jeep on it. Works great except for 2 things. It rattles and moves a little (Could be fixed with an etrailer hitch centering device). Once you put any gear on it, you can't open your tailgate without unpacking it all.

Too heavy to lift, slide out of receiver, and set on ground? Assuming it has a cooler and a plastic tub or something
