I traded in my 2003 WJ because it needed a good amount of work and I desperately wanted back into a Wrangler! ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1435147691.339239.jpgImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1435147702.925601.jpg

I got a 2012 Dozer JKU Sport with 60k on it. It didn't have all the things I wanted, but I searched and searched for a Dozer and the price was right on this one, plus is was in great shape and had a Trektop. ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1435147868.088532.jpg

YAAS Build To U.S. Mkt. Specifications

Rubicat and olram30's Dozer build are my inspiration. I have a rough plan in my head about what I want to do, but I'm sure as things fall into place it will change numerous times. Eventually I'll have Prorocks, EVO double throw downs, 37s, and all that high dollar stuff that comes with it! Hopefully. We will see :/

On to the additions!

My WJ had Weathertech mats that saved my ass numerous times so that was the first addition. (Starting the build thread a little late so they are worn-in and dirty)ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1435149181.681449.jpgImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1435149191.575665.jpg

Next to come was upgrading the horrific factory reverse lights so I can actually see when backing down my driveway at my mountain house. I followed a write up a found, but forgot to take pictures during the install. I used the Rigid Industries SR-Q Flush Mount Back Up Light Kit (SKU: 98003). It was pretty easy. Just remove your taillight housing by undoing the two inward screws. Disconnect the wiring. Use the gasket provide in the Rigid kit as a template for you cut. It lays perfectly over the clear backup light section. Cut the hole with a Dremel. Drill two hole for the mounting bolts provided, they tap nicely into the plastic taillight. There a bit of wiring to be done, PM me for details or find the write up. Plug everything back up. Reinstall the housing and boom. Took me about an hour, and now my reverse lights are brighter than my headlights! ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1435149230.253234.jpgImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1435149238.015748.jpg

Next was my WAYALIFE windshield decal! ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1435149266.990737.jpg

And a little playing around in the construction site by my house. I haven't had a chance to do anything really exciting yet off-road wise. There's a little steep hill/mini cliff thing in the front of my mountain house I messed around on, but again forgot to take pics. Sorry. I'm in love with the color!

I planed on buying an EVO Enforcer, all the things needed, wheels, and tires all at the same time, but that went quickly astray when I found a steal on a set of five 315/70/17 Mickey Thompson Deegan 38s on 17" XD Addicts. They weren't going to be my choice, but they look awesome and the price was right, so I jumped! Got them with only 800 miles on them for $1600 bucks. ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1435149618.151538.jpgImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1435149633.143323.jpg

I couldn't resist trying to stuff them on just to see what they would look like and how much rubbing and all it would give until i trim my fenders, chop my bumpers, and lift. ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1435149691.553550.jpgImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1435149705.255029.jpgImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1435149713.301338.jpg

For daily driving they are fine! They rubbed just slightly while turned and reversing on the air dam under the front bumper so I trimmed the lower corners off of it and now there's no rubbing what so ever! I wouldn't dare take it off-road though! I jumped a curb to avoid traffic yesterday and was fine there too haha. I need a fender trim and lift ASAP though!

O yeah I removed the Jeep mud flaps when I put the tires on, and the chrome taillight guards when I did the reverse light install.

Also got some new WAYALIFE JK decals for the sides! :)

I'm going to tackle the front fenders tonight hopefully.

It really bugs me that the previous owner got wax all over the black fenders. It looks like crap, and they are fading. Im liking about rattle can bed lining them when i do the trim. Any thoughts?

I forget what its called, but there is something that will clean them up with some good scrubbing and have them looking like new.

What gearing are you running and how does it feel on hills with the 35"s?

Looks great. Looking forward to following your build thread :thumb:

Try armor all.Looking good.

I tried that and it lasted for a day before going back to normal. I also tried Goo Gone and it was the same.

Unfortunately it has 3.21 gears. I have lost 4 mpgs. Its pretty flat here in Charlotte, NC so its been alright. I can certainly tell a difference in the RPMs, especially at 55+. The real test will be this weekend when I drive up the mountain to Boone, NC. It gets pretty steep going up there so ill let you know how it does. I would definitely like to regear though.

Looks great. Looking forward to following your build thread :thumb:

Thanks!

Started my fender chop last night. I will post some pictures when I'm done. I also have a few things coming in the mail! We will see what they are when they get here :yup:

Well I'm pretty much done with my fender chop. I just haven't decided how I want to cut the corners, so I still have to do that and then put the trim on. I'm very happy with them! It looks like I've got a lift and I don't! I tried very hard to keep as much of the mud guards as possible and it seems to have worked out nicely. You can't tell in the pictures but I did the passenger rear mud guard a little better than the driver side since I did if second. I followed a few different chop threads and then still kinda did my own thing. It's really all personal preference.

I'll post some finished product pics when I get the corners and trim done.

Next will be the bumper chop!

By the way I wanted to leave the black mud guard in the rear only because I wanted it to be black instead of Dozer in there, and because I was too lazy to paint it all.

Looks good! Dozer and black look good together. Might have to trim your pinch seams.

Yeah im very happy with the colors! the pinch seams are on my list of things to do, but for now its alright on my daily commute. probably with do them over the July 4th weekend.

Im also going to paint the flares and probably the bumpers too since they have faded so much. im thinking of trying a rattle can bedliner...not sure though. might do the steps too, but they are just on temporarily to make my GF happy, and unitl i get some sliders.

Somewhere in Olram's build thread he used a cleaner to get them black again. I'd try that first before you paint.

Edit: Your JK is looking great.

Yeah I saw that in his thread. I have tried a few different cleaners, and none of them lasted more than a couple days. I havent been able to find the exact cleaner he used locally. Might try and order some.

, how long did it last after you used the cleaner? If i recall your thread correctly it didnt last all that long.

If yours were like mine, the little pores were full of old build up, I really think any cleaner or degreaser to get the old stuff out of the pores should work. I've been using wd40 lately. Works ok.

Are yours faded greyish? How long does it last? I want something more permanent that im not going to have to redo weekly.

They were pretty bad. But upkeep is key unless you have a garage.
