BFG,Toyo or Nitto M/T 37x12.5x17?

Time for new tires. I have been running the Copper SST Pros and they been good but have been noisy. They have worked great on the the trails.

I had 37's BFG K02 before the Coopers and I liked the Copper better plus I never liked the looks of the K02.

With all that said what do people think of the BFG KM3, Toyo M/T and the Nitto Mud?
Jeep is somewhat of a daily driver and used on the trail's in Big Bear, Johnson Valley, Rubicon and Moab.
Thanks,
Frank

I've had BFG in the past and found them loud no matter what.

I have Toyo RT 35/12.5/17 on the JT and at 12,000 miles they are starting to get loud.

Never had Nitto, but every JL and JT I've been near on the pavement with them sing constantly.

I’ve ran STT pro. Nitto (currently on 38” trail grapplers) after running 39” KM3’s…. KM3 was smooth and fairly quiet but absolute trash for durability. Went through 3 sidewalls in a 6 week period and, that was largely due to the fact that you have to run obscenely low pressure to get them to hook up. I have a few friends running Toyo and they are fine but… I’m forever a Nitto fan being that I’ve ran 35’s 37’s and now 38’s. Can’t go wrong

If you thought your Coopers were loud then Nitto Mud Grapplers shouldn’t be a consideration.

ALL mud terrains will get louder with wear. If you want to keep them quieter, rotate once ever 3k miles and ONLY do front to back - do not chris-cross. That will help a lot.

That said, Toyo's are probably what you are wanting. Mud Grapplers are by far the noisiest tire I have ever run.

I had a set of ground hawgs back in the day even the nitto mud grappler’s would be quiet compared to those 🤣

I have 35 class KM3s. I don't find them very noisy or have trouble getting them to hook up @ 17 psi. I've run them as low as 12 psi. Haven't had any sidewall damage.

Keep in mind I have hearing loss and the tires are E rated. I don't find them too stiff on the highway at 32-35 psi. My Jeep is a two door Rubicon.

I like the KO2, they get noisier with wear but nothing compared to the SST.

KO2 do ok on most trails but IMO the SST grip much better. Running the same Moab trails with KO2 and then SST, the SST made it a walk in the park, not a fair comparison given the completely different tread patter but I think the rubber compound on the SST is softer.

I have the 13.5x37x17 SST on 17" KMC Machete beadlocks mounted on the JKU and they eat hubs for breakfast. IMO not a good combination for everyday driving unless you don't mind checking /replacing hubs about every 8 months depending on how you wheel/drive.

Cooper Tires are now owned by Goodyear and most production is now in china, the DOT code is supposed to identify where it's made but I don't know what those codes are.

I'm looking at NITTO for the next set

There's a whole bunch of codes for China plants. Here's an info page; https://www.wfirm.com/complete-list-of-tire-dot-plant-codes/

DD on Toyo MT 37x13.5x17 and occasional wheeling.
Good wear, not too noisy but only about 10k miles so far. Offroad they absolutely shine. Only had ATs previously so no real comparisons.

Never heard this one. Whats the reasoning? Just got done doing the rotation and bead check. I have always just done the Criss/Cross pattern.

Im ready for 37 tires currently I am running 315x12.5x17 BFG Ko2 (quiet) I changed when I first got my Jeep 2017, Now I am at 30K.
I have upgraded My Rub with Carbon Axles, Big Breaks, Evo Truss Kit, Barns Drive Shafts, Terra flex BJ, 1 ton Barns Alum DL and TR, HD Track Bar, 3.5 Lift, Fox ATF anyway
I was leaning at the Toyo MT's but they are not in stock anywhere, I had Toyo AT's on my truck they were great until 40K then got loud. My brother-in-laws jeep has Falcon 35 AT and they measured 34.9 (did it like the post for actual size) impressed.
Being retired I have limited funds so I want to get it right because it took me 5 years to add the upgrades for 37's I did not see any replies what DaBank ended up with..

Just got back from ORW I ordered 5 Toyo MT 37s when will they come in? who knows but got my ticket stamped :)

I was wondering what PSI I should run on the Rubicon Trail in July, just have Method Wheels,

Assuming your wheels are not beadlocks, I would say about 12-15 psi. Hell, even with beadlocks, that's all you really need to air down to.
