Caught the Bug
Here's an update. Just got the jeep back yesterday. I finally got the rear re geared to match the front. Installed an ARB locker and had some chromoly shafts installed. It's such a huge difference going from 3.73 to 5.13. In town driving is much better and I can use my overdrive again. The lockers are also great. It almost seems like cheating a little bit. [emoji23] Time to slow down a bit before my wife divorces me. ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1469103778.624305.jpg ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1469103801.151414.jpg ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1469103814.191020.jpg

Love the look of slabs with Red Rock. I think that will be my next purchase since I'm due for tires in the next 6 months or so.

Did a short jeep trip out the Naches trail area. First time there and the trails were a blast. Made it out to the Moon rocks and Funny rocks. Played around a bit. Also got to show a FJ group of ten that my jeep could climb a ledge that they had been trying for the last 30 minutes. It was a good time and would love to go back. Forgot to post this earlier but the kids helped me paint my new diff cover. I think it turned out great. ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1471392138.458006.jpg

Been busy for the last couple months and I finally got a day off where I could go out and play again. I decided to go to Walker Valley ORV park. It was pretty slippery which made crawling more of a challenge. I'm also happy with the purchases I've made. You never know somethings how things are going to hold up on the trail until they get abused. My front bumper has taken multiple hits and drops and its holding up very well along with my EVO sliders. My synergy tie rod had also taken a lot of abuse and is still going strong. I regret just a little not saving up for one tons and 40s. Someday I guess. So I've been out on the ocean for the past month and the PNW has been hit by a few storms since I've been gone. My wife went to drive the jeep last week and found the back full of water. I would say that it was a bad door seal but the entire top on the inside is covered with water and it's starting to smell. Sounds like it's time for a new top. I'm thinking the Trektop NX top. I'm going to see if I can pick one up today. IMG_1478279458.076571.jpg IMG_1478279467.562792.jpg

Got the new top put on and I really like it. It was a fairly straightforward install. I had to let the jeep idle with the heat on for about 30 minutes to get the fabric to relax. Now I just need to figure out what to do with the floors. I might just leave the carpet out for the rest of the winter so I can keep my eyes out for leaks.
