Customer service is a fuckin joke anywhere these days. They screw up, make it to be your fault, and have the take it or leave it attitude. Everyone figures there are other customers, so why do you matter.
I had a situation with a hotel on Pensacola Beach in October. Drove down to see my dad after he got out of the hospital for colon cancer. Didn't want to bug the poor guy by staying at his house, so we booked a room on the beach so we could hang out whenever he wasn't up for having company. Long story short, we're sitting at my dad's house shooting the shit with him, and the hotel calls asking why we haven't check out yet? Ummm WTF, we're not scheduled to check out until tomorrow. "Umm no, you were supposed to have checked out by 11am today and we need your stuff out immediately!".
So my wife scrambles to find the email confirmation, looked that dates, we were correct, they were wrong. We try explaining it to the chick on the phone, she gets irate with us, says we have 30 minutes to remove our stuff, or they'll remove it for us and toss it in the hallway and hangs up on my wife. My dad's house is a 45 minute drive from there....so we FLY to get there, haul ass inside and get on the elevator at the same time the manager is heading to our room to more or less evict us!
We plead our case, show her documentation that we are right, they are WRONG.....they didn't give a flying fuck. She flat out tells us it is our fault because we didn't double check the dates on the paperwork? I said paperwork....I'm SHOWING you the fucking paperwork that says we paid for tonight. She looks at the paperwork and then she says "oh, well we didn't even charge you the correct nightly rates, you paid less than what you should have, so you're welcome....would you like to book another room for tonight?" NO, FUCK OFF! I've never been treated so poorly in my life and made to feel like we were scum!
