Old guy buys an old Jeep. I've had 2 CJ5s in the past, (back before the internet) and am getting back into a CJ5 once again. Having been in large trucks (Suburban, Super Duty) for years, I'm looking forward to a smaller package that will get me in more places. My wife (of 21+ years) doesn't like to travel off road because I scared her a couple times up on some steep hills back when I was at Fort Lost-in-the-woods. (U.S. Army retired/disabled) I'm buying a 360 powered '79 this time. It has 4 wheels discs on full size axles with a SOA lift, and has been a sand toy for quite a spell. I've got a lot to change because I'm gonna use it for trails and light overlanding, but it has very little rust, so I have a good starting point. Should be on the trails by spring.
