Lower intake manifold gasket replace JK 2010

Hi, I need to replace my lower intake manifold gasket. I honestly could take it into dealership but want to learn. Does anyone know of a thread on this forum or any helpful tool that would assist me in the process? I have a 2010 Wrangler JK.

Edit. I've seen some great video write ups online. If you look around I'm sure you'll run into one. Looks like a long job but not a really complicated job.

Did mine about a year ago chasing an oil leak that was dripping from engine to transmission (found out later it was actually from oil pan gasket).
I don't recall any special tools need, except torque wrench. A good set of sockets, wrenches should suffice.
The big thing to keep in mind is to keep your work area clean, like clean room environment. Cover all open galleys and ports to prevent stuff from falling into places they don't belong.
Search around the other sites for walkthrus with pics. I remember finding a few..IIRC there was a video on YouTube of the repair done on a caravan that was helpful.

Lower intake manifold gasket replace jk 2010

All, thank you for your help with this.

I did it today and it wasn't as hard as I imagined it would be. Took me almost 7 hours however it didn't cost a penny expect for parts.

Here are a few short cuts I found.

1. I drained the radiator from the lower radiator hose, instead of removing front grill to drain it. Just make sure you have a drip pan because it will go everywhere and don't forget to remove the radiator cap :)

2. I suggest removing your passenger side fender and liner. That is going to save you crazy time when removing the EGR hose. If you don't, I wish you luck.

3. I used a pliers to lift the injectors connectors (under the upper manifold cover) because they were really hard to remove otherwise.

4. I spent a lot of time trying to figure out how to release the fuel pressure on my 2010 JK only to find out it's not required. The fuel disconnect is just under the throttle body and it has a blue and a white clip. Remove the blue and then the white clip and you're done. There will be a few drops but that's it.
