Just a thought...if you put an adjustable rack system, consider gas struts on the posts so one person can move the rack up & down. I have a James Baroud hardshell tent on top of my trailer; it is much easier to get the rack higher (for awning deployment) and lowered (for trailering) with the struts.

Thanks! The tent is a tepui autana ruggedized. It is amazing.

The trailer started off as a home build I bought off of a hummer guy. Looked good from the outside but had to be completely redone. I will try to post a complete build thread in the near future. My buddy's trailer. Not a great pic but a real cool old USMC trailer. We use it all the time. Best thing about it is it floats with up to 500 lbs in it!

I'm building my own from scratch right now, it's a 5x6' bucket and around 8 feet overall

Phase1 of my build.
All aluminum topper that has storage shelfs on one side and its a sleeper on the other side. I'm 5.5 so it will work for me.
I'll start a build thread later. All aluminum frame with No axle suspension.

I have been thinking of getting an ex British army trailer. I have seen some ex nato that have been in storage since deployment. Problem is the storage I only have a single garage and don't want to leave one of my jeeps on the drive.

Love all these trailers and ideas. I am pulling a 5x10 converted cargo trailer. Hopes are to eventually lift it with wider axle/bigger tires that will allow it to go over some "rougher" terrain. Nothing like the rugged trails that some of these trailers will be able to do but perfect for what I need (comfort).

I sold my military trailer and took over a project from a friend. Thinking of a bed with a rack or building some sort of box.

Pretty simple and cheap "build". $200 for the used trailer. $30 for a set of 3" lifting blocks. $40 for a set of 1.5" wheel spacers (so the wheels would clear the frame). $75 for two used 17x9 Pro Comp wheels. $50 for two used 285/70 MTR's. $100 for the used Yakima racks. $20 for a set of longer u-bolts. Bought everything off Craigslist and bolted it all together. Had to cut the fenders off to clear the tires.

I like it and it does everything I need it to do. Mostly beach trips with the occasional camping trip.

I like this a lot! I have been thinking of doing something like this to my 5x8 utility trailer. It would do all I need and be light enough to pull behind my TJ. I think I would really rather have a 4x6 like yours so it wasn't wider than my jeep but I'll work with what I have.
