Random (non-Jeep) Shit You’re Working On....

There were multiple injuries to both knees that begin years ago.
Seems like once I had the 1st severe injury to one knee, the other knee wasn't far behind.
At 1 point I injured my good leg waiting for surgery on the damaged leg.
I should have done this years ago but kept waiting for a better method.
The technology is more precise but the surgery itself is still the same..
I decided to cry once rather than spread it out over 2 separate surgeries.
The surgical pain is there, but the bone on bone pain is gone, feeling good about it.
That definitely sounds like the better way to do it, all at once. I’m sorry that you had to go through that though.

Hopefully it’s worth the work
Well the part was $56 plus fluid, AC seals and R134a so I'm out maybe $100 total. I figure if I took it in leaking they'd try to say "That's going to cost us $1000 to fix" which in their defense if I had taken it to the dealership it would have...haha. I figure I'll do a KBB instant offer too before I head up. All the leverage the better.

Haven’t posted in here, mostly cuz I’m a long way from being done. I’m definitely over this job and the amount of work I still have ahead of me still has me scattered all over the place. At the moment, I’m finishing up the must haves for the winter, which is driving my wife nuts cuz it’s not cosmetic. The kitchen is the only room in the whole house that’s almost done.

We did live edge countertops, mainly because my wife hates granite. I’m very happy with them. I was also able to customize and cut it all myself so I knew a countertop company wouldn’t screw that up. I also saved a lot of money. Granite would have cost me around $7-8k. I did this for around $2000.

Still doing some work around the wood stove in the living room. The sides are now bricked up as well. Wife is deciding on paint.

2 story 10X36 extension with the foundation. Brand new wire from the panel out. Brand new plumbing from the meter, up, including new drainage thru out. 450 boards of 5/8 sheet rock. 40 boards of 5/8 wonderboard… and I’m still not finished.

The kitchen looks fantastic! What is the brick? Individual tiles, wallpaper, something else?
3/4” brick veneer. I believe the color is cobalt with mocha grout. All picked by the wife. I worry about the structure. She does the decor. They’re individual pieces. In the pics I posted, they weren’t grouted yet. You can see the grout in the wood stove pic.

Foundation of the extension. I ran radiant heat thru the floor and it’s all closed up now. All my tools are in there now so I can’t get a good pic. I installed a sump pump and a sewage ejection pump cuz a bathroom will eventually go down there and I also put in a French drain.

So I finally decide to post pics of the progress and this happens. I brought up one of my broken hockey sticks to use as an additional lock on my sliding doors. My son grabbed it while I was getting my angle grinder to cut it (composite hockey stick). 2 month old, 65” smart tv. He whacked it with the hockey stick. Don’t let your 4 year old get a hold of adult hockey sticks.
FUUUUUUUUCK!!!!
