(brown recluse) That little guy actually managed to bite me before I found him too.

I believe they can, but it would take a bad bite or multiple bites. Usually it's just REALLY sore (like my whole leg hurt) and has a large swollen area. If it's bad you may also get flu like symptoms. They can get infected and rot away the flesh directly around the area too. Mean little bastards.
