And that would be a taking in violation of the 5th Amendment to the Constitution, especially if the property was given to a NGO. And when all the properties are bought up by the big companies it leaves nothing for the regular Joe to buy.Maybe I’m missing something, but COPA doesn’t force a property seller to sell for less than market value. The nonprofit gets a right of first refusal but it has to beat all other offers. So, the seller isn’t getting screwed out of money.
